Sinners Never Sleep is the third studio album by English rock band You Me at Six. The album was released on 30 September 2011 and was released through Virgin Records in the UK, Australia and New Zealand on 3 October 2011. The album was then released in the United States on 24 January 2012. The first and lead single, "Loverboy" was released on 23 September 2011, and was followed by "Bite My Tongue" which was released on 28 November 2011. Their third single from the album, titled, "No One Does It Better" was released on 8 April 2012. The fourth and last single to be released from the album, titled, Reckless was released on 22 October 2012.

Recording

The album was recorded in Los Angeles in early 2011 at Sunset Sound and The Sound Factory studios with producer Garth Richardson, known for his production work with band such as Biffy Clyro and Rage Against the Machine. The album was mixed and mastered by long time collaborators Matt O'Grady and John Mitchell at Matt O'Grady's home studios in Woking, Surrey. The album is also to feature guest vocalists Oli Sykes and Winston McCall respectively.

Release

The band set up a five-day countdown timer as a splash page on their website alluding to the release of information about their new release, accompanied by changing images each day. On 1 August 2011, Sinners Never Sleep was announced for released in October. In addition, its track listing and artwork were revealed. "Loverboy" was posted online on 12 August. A music video was released for "Loverboy" on 1 September. The video continues the Prison theme on this album. In late August, the band appeared at the Reading and Leeds Festivals. On 22 September, the band played a live session for Radio 1 covering Foo Fighter's songs, as well as "Loverboy" and a world exclusive live version of new track "Little Death". "Loverboy" was released as an EP on 23 September with an instrumental and acoustic versions of "Loverboy" and "Moon Child" as additional tracks.

"Jaws on the Floor" premiered on Kerrang! radio on 26 September. Sinners Never Sleep was released on October 3. The deluxe edition included a film documentary called Bite My Tongue. The deluxe edition was also released on as an iTunes LP and featured the bonus track "Takes One To Know One", the video for "Loverboy", and the documentary film Bite My Tongue. In October, the group went on a tour of the UK. In October and November, the band supported Mayday Parade on their headlining US tour, titled Noise Tour. On 6 November, a music video was released for "Bite My Tongue". It was filmed in October in New York. It was released as a single on 2 December with "Brother" as an additional track.

On 24 January 2012, the album was released in the US. On the same day, "Little Death" was made available for free download. In January and February, the group went on a co-headlining US tour with The Swellers with support from We Are the Ocean and Twin Atlantic. The tour was initially planned to be co-headlined with The Dangerous Summer. On 5 March, a music video was released for "No One Does It Better". In March and April, the group went on a headlining UK tour with support from Mayday Parade, Kids in Glass Houses and The Skints. Artwork for 'Jaws On The Floor' was leaked onto the internet creating speculation that it will be the third single from the album. However it was confirmed that the 3rd single will, in fact, be "No One Does It Better" as the band wanted to mix stuff up as Loverboy was rock and Bite My Tongue was heavy they wanted a soft follow up to show how their sounds differ. "No One Does It Better" was released as a single on 6 April 2012 with an acoustic version of the song as an additional track. In June, the group performed at Download Festival in the UK. Following this, the group embarked on Warped Tour until late July. In August, the group performed at Reading Festival in the UK. A live video was released for "Reckless" on 6 September.

Reception

Sinners Never Sleep peaked at No. 3 on UK Charts and was certified Gold in the UK. By December 2016, the album had sold over 100,000 copies in the UK.
